One of a network of Catapults established by the Technology Strategy Board, the Satellite Applications Catapult is an independent innovation and technology company, created to foster growth across the economy through the exploitation of space. We help organisations make use of and benefit from satellite technologies, and bring together multi- disciplinary teams to generate ideas and solutions in an open innovation environment. About Us The UK space sector is increasingly recognised for its significant contribution to the UK economy. This follows a decade of sustained growth, underpinned by a broad commitment to excellence and innovation. The UK already commands a seven per cent share of the global space market, and has ambitions to secure an even greater stake as the market swells to a predicted value of £400 billion by 2030. In response, the Satellite Applications Catapult has been established as a new type of independent innovation and technology company, created to foster growth across the economy through the exploitation of space. We help organisations make use of and benefit from satellite technologies, and bring together multi-disciplinary teams to generate ideas and solutions in an open innovation environment. Under the leadership of Chairman, Tim Sherwood, and Chief Executive Officer, Stuart Martin, we aim to be at the forefront of the UK space sector growth plans and investment, and the plans to capture a 10 per cent share of the global market. This will more than quadruple the UK space-related economy to an estimated £40Bn per year, and create around 100,000 new high-tech jobs across the country. Our facilities, expertise and accessible collaborative environment are essential components in the plan to deliver this space sector growth potential.
